Black Women Who Have Turned Fitness Into Their Careers

Now, more than ever, we are noticing a trend in the millennial generation! Everyone wants to be fit! Women all over are working hard to accomplish their fitness goals; Whether it is to shed weight or gain muscle, women all over are crushing their goals and are happy doing it! Another trend that has been common are the careers in fitness that have skyrocketed over the years. You’ve heard the saying “When you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life”, well these fitness gurus embody everything it means to love what you do; So much so, that they’ve left their 9-5 jobs to make it their full-time job and it is paying off!

If you’re like me, you have your top favorite female trainers that you follow on Instagram. You can’t wait for them to post their next recipe and training video for you to try. My body type is muscular and it is refreshing to see other women in fitness who look like me! These women are all sizes, shapes, and body types. It makes me feel like my fitness goals are attainable and I have people to relate to, kind of like a fitness role model.

This Afro Latina is the bomb.com and is a total beast in the fitness industry. She never ceases to amaze, she never hesitates to share her before and after photos, and she shares her life with us all. It’s been amazing to see how much she has grown in this industry! She has her own line of supplements “Tru Supplements” which are plant based, non-gmo, and with no artificial ingredients (triple win for my fellow vegans), a partnership with Target for her athletic wear line “C9”, She trains everyday people like you and I with her MAWarriors plans and is also a celebrity trainer to Tess Holiday, Tamera Mowry, and many more. She is simply killing the game and is loving every minute of it!

Brittne, better known as “The Queen of At-Home workouts” is young and killing it! She shows her clients and followers that they don’t need a gym to stay fit, they can achieve their goals in the comfort of their home. She offers several BrittCamp workouts, 21-Day challenges/ programs such as “Amazing Abs”, and “Bigger Booty.” She also does outside workouts (for my fellow nature lovers). The world is her playground, but she didn’t come to play. The best part is that she started BrittneBabe when she was 19 years old with the help of her mom and she did all of this while being a full-time student. That is the definition of Black Girl Magic!

This Haitian Queen is also very down to earth! While being in the Army, she obtained her personal trainer’s certificate and began training her fellow soldiers and followers online. Some of Fancy’s programs include “6 Weeks Abs/Core”, “Full Body Training”, and “Build a Booty.” Fancy is devoted to training, but she is still very active with the Army. She recently graduated and became an Army Medical Recruiter. The true definition of an overachiever!

What I love the most about these women is that they are so transparent and honest with their clients and with their audience! You get the good, the bad, and the ugly. It reassures me that yes, they are still human like me and that they go through, or have gone through rough patches in their fitness journeys, and strive every day to be and do better.
